dayfive Inc. initiates Asia/Pacific Educational Service

Broadcasters are recognizing the impact of DTV and file based video on their day-to-day operations and workflow. dayfive has now teamed up with industry specialist Ron Harrington to offer professional services to Educational Television broadcasters in the Asia Pacific region. The new application provides broadcasters with both operational and technical resources to assist in the development of overall strategic planning. The offering is in response to a growing need for broadcasters to upgrade aging analogue broadcast facilities to new DTV and HDTV technologies.

The service offering is structured so as to provide customers with flexible development planning. It can include:

  • Assessment the expected lifetime and value if the existing resources.
  • A review of existing facilities and operational methodologies with focus on transition to DTV/HDTV.
  • Operational planning for DTV/HDTV ; development of plans for staff retraining for revised workflows.
  • Development of upgrade and migration strategies for technical facilities
  • Modeling of a future design, consistent with capital and operating budgets with DTV/HDTV objectives.
  • Development of capital and operating budgets.
  • Management level reporting and documnetation.

Ron Harrington brings over forty years of experience in television operations, production and senior station management.   In the last decade as well as being Director, Production and Operations for a BC based network he also received 5 International Awards for his work as a Producer/Director and Executive Producer.  This background combining senior management, facility development and enhancement and current hands on production experience allows Ron to bring a set of fully rounded experiences to focus on our client's needs.

dayfive Inc. releases Version 1.0 FMseek

In response to industry needs, dayfive Inc. has developed specialized software to aid broadcasters and engineers in the assessment of new FM broadcasting undertakings in Canada. The new WEB based application provides authorized users at any internet equipped PC to access a remote database of FM assignments and allocations for extensive search capabilities.

The package is a first step in a program to completely automate the process of preparing the technical information required to develop new FM undertakings in Canada.

The final product will allow an authorized user to:

  • Search the database for FM assignments and allocations by user defined criteria.
  • Seek out new broadcasting opportunities by automated "drop-in" assessment
  • Evaluate coverage and population statistics in real-time

The application is made possible by advances in WEB based IT technologies including DBMS and server side scripting.

dayfive Inc. initiates an RFP's RFQ's and RFI offering .

We know that solicitation and evaluation of proposals, quotations and supplier Information is a very important part of any services or facilities oriented project.  We are experienced in all aspects of the RFP/RFQ and RFI process in telecommunications, broadcast and IT.
